What does SLE Technologies do?
We sell, install, and service automotive and heavy-duty shop equipment across the Midwest — vehicle lifts, wheel service equipment, compressors, fluid systems, collision repair equipment, and more. We handle the full lifecycle from consultation and planning through installation, inspections, and ongoing repair.
What states do you serve?
We carry 2-post lifts, 4-post lifts, mobile column lifts, in-ground piston lifts, in-ground scissor lifts, and platform lifts for light-duty and heavy-duty applications. We’re one of the top Stertil-Koni distributors in the country and authorized dealers for Challenger Lifts and other top manufacturers.
What's the difference between a 2-post and 4-post lift?
A 2-post lift picks the vehicle up by the frame or pinch welds, giving you full access to the wheels, suspension, and undercarriage — ideal for most repair work. A 4-post lift uses runways the vehicle drives onto, which makes it better for storage, alignment work, and heavier vehicles. The right choice depends on how you use your bays.
What's the difference between a symmetric and asymmetric 2-post lift?
A symmetric lift positions the vehicle evenly between the posts. An asymmetric lift rotates the posts so the vehicle sits further back, which lets the doors open without hitting the columns — better for most passenger vehicle service bays. We can help you spec the right configuration for your operation.
What's the difference between a baseplate and overhead 2-post lift?
A baseplate (floor plate) lift anchors to the floor with a visible base, which is easier to install. An overhead lift runs the cables or hydraulics through the top, leaving the floor clear. Overhead is cleaner and easier to work around, but typically costs more to install. Both have the same lifting capacity.
Do you install vehicle lifts?
Yes. Our own factory-certified technicians handle the full installation — delivery, setup, operator training, and final testing. We don’t use subcontractors.
What are the concrete requirements for a 2-post lift installation?
Most 2-post lifts require a minimum of 4 inches of concrete at 3,000 PSI, though requirements vary by manufacturer and lift capacity. We assess your floor before installation and let you know if any prep work is needed.
Can you repair lifts you didn't sell?
Yes. We service all major brands regardless of who sold or installed them — Stertil-Koni, Challenger Lifts, Rotary, BendPak, and others.
Do you offer emergency lift repair?
Yes. We carry an extensive parts inventory and dispatch local technicians for seized or non-operational lifts. Contact your regional team for current availability.
How often should vehicle lifts be inspected?
ALI recommends annual inspections at minimum. High-volume operations or specific insurance requirements may call for more frequent inspections. We can help you determine the right schedule.
Do you perform ALI-certified lift inspections?
Yes. Our technicians hold ALI certifications and perform thorough inspections that meet or exceed ANSI/ALI ALOIM standards — the same inspections required by insurance carriers, OSHA, and state regulations.
What other equipment do you sell and service?
Beyond vehicle lifts, we carry wheel service equipment, air compressors, A/C service machines, fluid storage and piping systems, exhaust removal systems, shop storage, cleaning equipment, and collision repair equipment from Car-O-Liner and Accudraft.
Can you help design a new shop or facility?
Yes. We offer full shop design and build-out services — from layout and equipment planning through full coordination of new construction and expansions.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We work with financing partners to make equipment affordable, and we work with government contracts and OEM programs.
